The ‘WCA World Cement Conference, in association with INTERCEM‘, taking place in London this December, is the first annual cement industry meeting to be co-organised by INTERCEM together with the World Cement Association (WCA).

The conference will immediately follow the conclusion of the inaugural General Assembly of the World Cement Association on the morning of the 12th December 2017.

Designed specifically for senior and executive level representatives of cement producers, this exclusive conference programme will invite leading speakers from both inside and outside the cement industry to address the sector’s decision-makers. Key issues around our business will be examined to bring new ideas, critical analysis and fresh perspectives to the table, as the cement industry looks to the transformative years ahead.

The cement industry exists today as the world’s foremost building material, providing the construction sector with a durable, resilient and cost-effective product across the globe, facilitating economic and infrastructure development in every country. However, modern industry executives face pressures that extend far beyond local supply and demand economics, and providing shareholders a return on investment. Both domestic and global political pressures must be considered; the environmental impact of the sector faces increased scrutiny and new technologies develop with the potential to change both the supply chain and the way we approach the construction of new homes, infrastructure and cities. Meanwhile, new and novel cements have the potential to become game-changers in our industry.

The cement industry must come together to face new challenges, to promote the benefits on cement and concrete, disseminate best practice and develop new opportunities for the sector. As the WCA convenes for its first General Assembly, this exclusive conference will look to help CEOs and senior decision-members accomplish this as they plan for the coming years.

The registration fee at WCA World Cement Conference, in association with INTERCEM includes coffee breaks, lunches, welcome reception, gala dinner, event documentation and post-event access to online presentations.

Obtaining a necessary visa is the responsibility of the delegate, check with your local embassy and if you are required to obtain a visa, please allow enough time for your application to be processed before you travel.  Please be aware that in some cases visas can take up to one month to issue. For more information on visa requirements, please contact your local Embassy or Consulate. Credits will not be given where visas have not been applied for in good time.

Please note that hotel accommodation is not included in the conference fee.

You are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance, as the organiser will not accept any liability for travelling, accommodation or other expenses incurred as a consequence of a possible event cancellation or postponement.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the organisers to alter the venue and content, or the timing of the programme.


A 50% credit for cancellations received in writing on or before 5 weeks in advance of the conference start date, will be made. No credit notes will be made on cancellations received after this date. Credit will only be given in cases of exceptional circumstance (for example, on production of a medical certificate) and an administrative fee will be charged together with any balance due.
