Location:Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel, Doha, Qatar
Dates:From 11 March 2012 to 13 March 2012
Voices from across the cement industry have hailed INTERCEM Doha as an overwhelming success. The conference, INTERCEM’s tenth in the MENA region, attracted nearly 460 delegates from 48 countries to the State of Qatar to learn about the latest market developments, discuss the latest technologies and network with fellow members of the industry - making the meeting the largest independent cement industry conference in the region this year.

Officially opened by HE Dr Mohamed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister for Energy and Industry in the State of Qatar, the conference was well supported by its Qatari hosts attracting delegates, exhibitors and speakers from across the construction sector on the peninsula. Delegates heard about the latest developments in the Vision 2030 strategy and of the huge infrastructure projects involved, including the development of Qatar’s railways and requirements for the FIFA World Cup and, potentially, the Olympic Games.

The conference also addressed the latest market updates from across the Middle East and North Africa. Delegates heard of the differing outlooks for states across the region. In many cases bearish markets for the construction and the cement industries are reflecting the political turbulence felt in many states over the last eighteen months and the ongoing impact of the global economic crisis. In other markets, such as in Qatar, domestic demand remains strong driving a bullish market.

If you wish to have a copy of presentations given at the conference, these are available free to all delegates.

An exhibition of nearly 40 companies accompanied the conference, showing the very best technological advancements and world–class services provided by many of the leading companies involved in the cement sector.
