His Excellency Dr Abdalla Ensour, Prime Minister of Jordan, opened the first-ever INTERCEM Conference in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. In front of an audience of almost 300 international cement industry representatives and government departments - including 4 senior ministers, ambassadors and business leaders, Dr Ensour welcomed delegates to Jordan and highlighted to them the importance of the country as a force for peace and stability in the region.

INTERCEM Energy Forum (In Arabic)

The INTERCEM Energy Forum took place in Cairo on the 1st and 2nd December 2014. Issues surrounding future fuel provisions in the cement industry had made headlines across Egypt throughout the year and media interest in the conference and in particular in the comments of Keynote Speaker and Minister of the Environment, His Excellency Khaled Fahmy was very high.

The first INTERCEM Africa conference to be held in East Africa took place from 16th - 18th June 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya. 

Rapid urban and infrastructure development in East Africa and particularly Kenya  have made this a key growth region for the international cement industry. CNBC's 'Eye on Kenya' programme took the opportunity presented by INTERCEM's conference in Nairobi to look at the domestic cement market including interviews with speakers, exhibitors and delegates as well as INTERCEM General Manager, Nigel Dickson.
